Salary: £48,000 per year

We have a client who is currently looking for a Payroll Manager to cover maternity leave. The position will be to manage, direct, control and process the company’s payroll and all other payroll related duties. To ensure that all the Company’s staff are paid accurately and promptly in line with company, accounting and statutory deadlines, policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop, deploy and maintain Payroll procedures and processes.
• Manage, train and supervise direct reports within the Payroll Team. Assist with administering payrolls, month end consolidation and processing support as required.
• Coordination and management of the entire payroll function.
• Calculate and issue pay by electronic transfer or by cheque.
• Process holiday, sick and maternity pay.
• To ensure overtime payments, shift payments and pay increases are actioned
• Create monthly Excel timesheets for each Operations Manager
• Approve new staff enrolment forms checking all documentation and validity of passports, visas etc.
• Consolidate the timesheets for a particular monthly pay run from each Operations Manager using the Excel Consolidation file available
• Import consolidation file to Sage 50 Payroll
• Print all the relevant payroll reports to be filed
• Email or post payslips to employees
• To create necessary reports to Directors after each pay run
• Keep track of holiday entitlements of employees
• Process statutory payments according to legislation parameters
• Make sure that Sage 50 payroll software is up to date and within legislation parameters

Competencies required:
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAGE payroll system
• Knowledge of Real Time Information (RTI) procedure
• Knowledge of Year End Procedures
• Experience in Pensions Assessments
• Demonstrated payroll management experience
• Demonstrated team leadership ability
• Attention to detail
• Ability to create, review and supply policies and procedures
• Problem solving ability, analytical and numeracy skills
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Project Management
Key deliverables:
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve the payroll process
• Ensure every member of the team are given the opportunity and managed to maximise their contribution
• To assist as required with implementation of the New Payroll System
• Projects as required such as process improvement and standardisation of payroll systems
