Payroll Manager
Farnham
£45-50k per annum
My client is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join their team within the heart of Farnham. As the Payroll Manager, you’ll use your extensive experience and knowledge of payroll and HMRC legislation to ensure effective and efficient processing within the team. This will be a very hands on role, working alongside the team in reconciling, preparing, and processing payments. You will:
- Carry out second checking processed items to ensure accuracy
- Authorise completed payrolls within the bank
- Authorise credit payment requests
- Review company debtor reports alongside the accounts team to identify risk areas
- Work with the Operations Director to ensure new clients have a smooth onboarding, regularly liaising with clients to ensure satisfaction and improve existing processes
- Maintain and uphold the clients compliance and legislative standards
- Conduct regular 1:1’s, team meetings, and quarterly reviews
- Monitor team and individual KPIs, regularly reporting results to the Operations Director
- Manage day-to-day resource within the team to ensure the department is adequately resourced
- Provide support and guidance to the team in all elements of their roles as needed
The ideal candidate will:
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience working within a Payroll manager role
- Proven experience in leading a team at team leader or supervisor level and be confident in people management including 1:1’s, setting objectives, and identifying development areas
- Be a natural relationship Builder
- Be approachable and personable in your interactions with colleagues, stakeholders, and clients
- Have strong written and verbal skills
- Have experience working within a high workload payroll team
- Have excellent working skills within Microsoft Excel
- Work with high level accuracy and attention to detail
Working hours are Monday to Thursday 8.30am-5.30pm, and Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm.
This role will be largely office based. Potential to work from home 1 day a week.
