Halo Recruit are working in partnership with one of Nottingham’s top 3 accountancy practices to recruit for a Payroll Clerk to join their team.

This is a temporary to permanent role working directly for our client. The role offers hybrid working with up to 3 days being based from home and the remainder of the week based from their practice in Ruddington, Nottingham.

The ideal candidate will ideally come from a bureau / in-practice background and will ideally have experience of using Brightpay payroll software, though full system training will be provided. 

The role is client facing and you will be responsible for handling your own portfolio of clients therefore excellent customer service skills are required.

The main duties will involve:

• Be accountable for supporting with the administration of around 370 payrolls, with around a third being director only payrolls.
• Preparing reports and financial statements under the supervision of the Payroll Manager 
• Managing and resolving any issues related to payroll.
• Overseeing and reviewing payroll payments and account reconciliations.

• Liaising with the team and customers to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate will ideally have:

• A comprehensive understanding of tax and payroll laws
• Experience of running multiple payrolls
• Experience of Brightpay software (ideally, though not essential)
• Mathematics for calculating taxes and employee wages
• Computer literacy in using Microsoft Office suite and payroll software
• Written and verbal communication, including active listening and report writing
• Deductive reasoning for analysing raw payroll data and using it to develop and refine payroll policies
• Organised work ethic and multi-tasking
• Excellent customer service skills
