Salary: £48,000 per year
Charity organisation based in South London is looking for an experience Payroll Officer on an interim basis to work in a team to assist in processing all aspects of the payroll.
The role:
- Review and process data received into the payroll system. Data received includes joiners, leavers, contract changes, one-off payments, one-off deductions, sickness and family leave. The details must be checked for accuracy and manual calculations must be performed where necessary to check that pay has been calculated correctly.
- Assist with other data to be input and processed into payroll which may include timesheets, tax code changes, NI category changes and Court Orders.
- Assist with the production and distribution of monthly payslip summaries, taking the lead where required.
- Assist with the completion of the monthly payroll cycle, including checking of all reports, preparing the BACS file, RTI submission and post payroll reconciliation, taking the lead where required.
- Assist with the administration of the Pension Schemes, including Auto Enrolment duties, upload of monthly submission files and payment to the pension providers, taking the lead where required.
- Ensure that overpayment recalculations are carried out, checked for accuracy and notified to the relevant parties in a timely manner.
- Be a point of contact for all payroll queries from employees, management and the payroll team. Deal with all queries in a timely, efficient, professional and confidential manner.
Looking for some to:
- be able to demonstrate that they could take the lead on completing the monthly payroll cycle but can also pick up some of the more basic payroll duties as required
- be able to demonstrate how they manage their time
- be able to demonstrate an ability to hit the ground running.
- ideally, they will be someone who has been at least a senior payroll officer in previous roles.
