Part-time HR Assistant, £24k, West End London

Our client is looking for an exceptional part-time HR Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. Working with an instantly recognisable education institution in London, this is a chance to get involved in an interesting and complex part of the organisation, dealing with the medical sector and medical professionals.

Who will you be working for?

They are one of the largest providers of continuing medical education in the UK. They provide accredited courses for continuing professional development, which is so vital in allowing doctors, dentists, veterinary surgeons and other healthcare professionals their continuing freedom to practise.

The hours weekly are 17.5hours but could be extended to 21 hours.

What does the role consist of?

Updating of HR related databases including CIPHR system, HR files to ensure accurate information held relating to staff and their benefits in compliance with Data Protection Act ongoing.
Timely and accurate Induction and administration of all new joiners to the Society on a weekly basis including ensuring full satisfactory staff vet, health checks completed before staff join.
Completion of exit interviews for all staff leaving the Society, production of reports outlining trends and recommendations where needed to the HR Director, and accurate/timely administration of leaving paperwork.
Monthly production and circulation of accurate, meaningful HR related reports on turnover, absence levels, head count and HR activities in line with Data Protection act.
Provision of accurate/timely HR related administration including changes to terms and conditions, issue of contracts and internal advertisements, probation reminders and confirmation letters, resignation acceptance letters, training joining instructions and materials.
Handling day to day routine HR related queries including queries relating to leave entitlement, other HR policies.
Undertaking regular right to work checks and referring issues to the Head of HR as needed.
Supporting the HR Director on other HR related projects as needed.

What will the successful candidate be like?

This is a very admin/transactional based role so someone with excellent admin skills with an HR background. This role would suit a well organised, diplomatic and self motivated individual with a sharp eye for detail and strong administrative background. Experience in using CIPHR system would be desirable.
