The Vacancy

We are currently recruiting Decorators to work directly within Barnet Homes’ DLO Repairs Service. You will be responsible for Reactive Maintenance within properties and estates around the London Borough of Barnet.

 

Your main duties will include:

  • Undertaking painting and decorating duties to a high level
  • Working with our customers and providing exceptional customer care in line with the Operative Codes of Conduct
  • Updating jobs on the electronic PDA system, including appropriate and legible notes, updates on job status’s and photographs
  • Diagnosing faults and issues and taking appropriate action including arranging follow on works where necessary
  • Maintaining van stocks and materials, ensuring they are stored correctly and replenished in line with the relevant processes
  • Coding works on completion to ensure visibility of materials used and actual repairs undertaken

We are looking for someone who has the following skills and attributes

  • Suitable and relevant decorating qualification i.e. NVQ level 3
  • Experience of working in reactive painting and decorating (5 years minimum)
  • Prior experience in working within Social Housing
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Able to supply own basic hand tools and electrical tools
  • Safe usage of power tools in accordance with Health and Safety legislation
  • Prior use of a PDA system, including updating jobs with notes, photographs and outcomes
