Salary: £26,000 – £28,800 per year
I am currently working alongside an SEN school based in the Sittingbourne area. The school is a small provision that provides education to secondary aged pupils with SEMH (social, emotional, mental health) and those pupils struggling in a mainstream education setting. Having increased their pupil intake this September the school are looking to appoint intervention tutors to support in school on a 1:1 basis.
Subjects Required:
- Maths (Level – Functional Skill up to GCSE)
- English (Level – Functional Skill up to GCSE)
- Science
- General Cover (incl. Humanities, Art, Music PSHE)
Position Details:
- Intervention tutor (1:1)
- SEN – Social, Emotional, Mental Health
- 1:1 tuition based on and/or off school site (ability to drive and access to a car preferable).
Tutors will be expected to provided reports (template provided) for each tuition session based on subjects covered and student participation. The school will also support with lessons, learning levels and materials required. Due to the nature of the students and their needs, experience working within SEN would be desirable but not essential. It will be your ability to build relationships and increase pupil attainment and sense of worth that will make you a success. - Be able to commit to working the hours specified above.
- Provide an enhanced DBS registered on the update service. If you do not hold a valid DBS be willing to apply for a new DBS. The cost of a DBS is a one-off payment of £26,000 – £28,800 with an annual subscription of £26,000 – £28,800 per year to the DBS Update Service.
- If you have been a UK resident for less than 5 years, a right to work visa must be provided and a criminal background check certificate must be provided for any country resided in for 6 months or more within the past 5 years.
