Operations Manager

Our client is a charity, supporting communities with access to health, education and social care services. Based in North Leeds they are now looking to grow their team and recruit an experienced Operations Manager to support the work of the Chief Executive Officer.

You will be joining an award winning team who really make a difference to society. Based in the office you will work alongside a small team to manage, deliver and coordinate operational services. Working closely with the Chief Executive and staff to ensure that all funding objectives are fully met through output and outcome achievement.

Purpose

  • To ensure effective operational delivery of all project outputs and outcomes as per funders/contractors/client requirements and providing appropriate line management to the staff.
  • To work as part of the Senior Management Team in the development of the organisation both operationally and strategically.

Responsibilities

  • The implementation, management, and delivery of several contracts including quality assurance, sustainability, budget management and monitoring requirements.
  • Manage the monitoring and evaluation of all projects to ensure accurate reporting to funders, contractors, CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Ensure liaison with staff and the Finance Officer regarding budget spend and financial management of all projects.
  • Ensure the line management and supervision of all operational staff with associated support and meetings.
  • To work with the CEO to cost and scope potential proposals for income generation projects.
  • To support service development and income generation activities.
  • To lead and manage positive working relationships, including commissioners, stakeholders, and volunteers relevant to the development and success of the organisation.
  • To deliver the strategic marketing and communication action plan.
  • To ensure projects deliver in line with all project performance indicators relating to cost, quality, and performance.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with external agencies working closely/supporting the management of sub-contracting arrangements.

Strategic Responsibility

  • To prepare/collate appropriate levels and range of performance-based reporting monitoring and associated information.
  • To take an active part in the strategic planning process, delivering strategic plans and operational objectives.
  • In conjunction with the CEO, set, review, and monitor annual budgets, future capital expenditure budgets/proposals.
  • The managing and undertaking of management activities of staff within the posts control.
  • To lead, manage and motivate the performance of staff/volunteers by setting and reviewing targets and objectives, maintaining discipline, communicating appropriately, and developing staff to meet organisational needs.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity and diversity and to ensuring that the culture, philosophy, and processes are free from bias and discrimination.
  • Input into SMT with a specific brief for client relationship management and strategic partnerships

Requirements

  • Experience of working within a charity desirable
  • Budgeting and finance skills essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Experience of funding monitoring and applications process
  • Own transport essential
  • Be able to attend meeting on occasion outside the Leeds area
