My client are a leading engineering business with a history of delivering innovative and high quality products into a wide variety of sectors.

With a diverse range of processes, skills and products, the manufacturing side of this business is at the centre of this company, and as such the Operations Manager is a seminal part of its growth and success going forward.

Your role will be responsible for the overall management of the workshop, and be responsible for ensuring the performance, productivity and efficiency of production. Working with key stakeholders, you will establish effective methods and recommend improvements where necessary, maintaining a proactive approach to enhancing productivity.

Your day to day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

– Liaise with commercial teams to prioritise workflow and set achievable schedules.
– Delegating clear responsibilities to supervisors in order to achieve maximum efficiency
– Help to develop detailed business plan and budget
– Identify, justify and implement recruitment plans
– Ensure the integrity of the quality management systems
– Ensure staff are fully trained and competent through mentoring and development
– Deal with staffing disciplinary and training needs effectively
– Lead on departmental improvements, plans for growth and compliance issues.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to be able to demonstrate proven experienced in production or operational role, preferably within a workshop or low volume/high value environment. A background in managing a diverse skilled workforce within a cellular manufacturing process is preferred, and as the needs of the business change regularly, the ability to identify and offset production issues in the plan is essential.

Ideally educated to at least HND level in an engineering discipline, or apprentice trained, you will have a track record of leading large teams through tough and fast moving manufacturing processes, and be able to provide evidence of where you have improved or enhanced the productivity of the team using modern manufacturing techniques, or business improvement plans

This role comes with an excellent salary, car, benefits and bonus for the successful candidate
