Operational Business Analyst

We are currently looking for an Operational Business Analyst to join a leading Environmental company based in the Kent area. As the Operational Business Analyst you will working in the Business Performance Team and work alongside ambitious, innovative and highly motivated individuals that all work effectively as a team and individually.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Operational Business Analyst you will produce analytical tools, reports and Key Performance Indicators that constantly improve the standards and service levels of our stakeholder’s processes. You will work on high profile projects on multi-million pound contracts that will give you exposure to senior management. A snap shoot of your duties include:

1. Enhance operational performance and decision making through the analysis of operational data (SQL) and KPI (Key Performance Indicator) reports (Excel etc). You will have the opportunity to analyse data from every aspect of the business; GPS, Finance, HR, operations, productivity, H&S and all data that can be extracted from the management information systems.

2. Develop, generate and present reports to senior management, operations, technical and support teams and external clients. Understand the management systems and be able to recommend changes in order to continuously improve the systems for the benefit of the operational employees and analytics.

3. Innovating thinking is promoted and as the Operational Business Analyst you will be given opportunities to present your ideas to the Business Performance Manager and other senior stakeholders which, if approved, would allow you to continue to work on your own project and demonstrate the impact of your ideas and analysis on the business.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

To be successful as the Operational Business Analyst we are looking to identify the following on applications:

1. Degree in a relevant IT / computer sciences / mathematical / business based discipline (or equivalent experience to a degree) plus a high level working knowledge of GIS mapping applications, Microsoft SQL, MS Excel (vlookups, sumifs, countifs etc) with knowledge of Microsoft Powerview / Powerpivot being a distinct advantage

2. Excellent knowledge and experience of report writing tools, including Microsoft Report Builder, Crystal Reports or similar) with a proven ability to analyse complex datasets

3. Must have full UK driving licence and be flexible to travel around different sites. This role will require the occasional travel will be required within the Kent region including Dover, Shepway, Tonbridge, Malling and Folkestone.
