We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join a friendly, multi-disciplinary therapy team at an Outstanding SEN school.
You will be providing specialist, direct and indirect therapy for students aged 4-19, all of whom are diagnosed with autism and related disabilities. This school has small class sizes of 3 to 6 students, meaning you will have the opportunity to provide dedicated, tailored support on a 1:1 basis.
To support your career progression, the school will offer fully funded training and development programs.
It is important to note that you will be working Monday to Friday, 9am to 4:30 pm (Tuesdays to 5:30pm), during the schools’ term times. Part time will be considered for the right candidate.
Your own means of transport is essential due to the school’s rural location.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Supporting and developing pupils’ daily living and life skills enabling them to access a range of opportunities in the world around them
* Encouraging pupils to develop self-help skills and promote their independence and wellbeing
* Helping to recognise and manage sensory processing difficulties and supporting pupils to regulate their sensory systems to enable them to access education
* Making recommendations and adaptations to the pupil’s space to support teaching staff to create a positive learning environment
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and capabilities:
* Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
* HCPC registration to practice
* Member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
* Evidence of CPD, e.g. a membership of a relevant SIG/CEN
* Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with paediatric caseload
* Experience of working with a multi-disciplinary team
* Knowledge of relevant therapeutic interventions/approaches, e.g. Sensory Integration, postural management training/Bobath training
