Network Engineer Team Leader

Network Engineer Team Leader – Up to £60,000 per annum – Southampton

My client, a multinational security and defence organisation is seeking to recruit a skilled Network Engineer Team Leader to join their technical division onsite in Southampton. As a Network Engineer Team Leader, you will be required to manage members of the Network team across various locations, overseeing the monitoring and maintenance of my client’s Network Infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have a wealth of experience in networking, focused on delivering effective and efficient operational capability.

Major Tasks and Activities:

* Day to day management of dispersed geographically located team.
* Management of Queues, BAU and Project Workloads
* Ensure fault management and remediation across the network to agreed SLA / KPI’s.
* Administration of network Infrastructure as required and dictated by Best Practice.
* Work with 3rd Party support to perform operational maintenance of network infrastructure.
* Overall responsibility for the monitoring, management and reporting of the following technologies to the agreed performance levels and standards:
* Core Network – Ensure 24x7x365 availability.
* Wide Area Network – Manage relationship with suppliers.
* Local Area Network – Manage all site installations and infrastructure.
* Network Security Devices – All firewall and security products.
* Wireless – Internal and Guest Wi-fi infrastructure

Qualification and Experience:

* Experienced IT Manager, focused on delivering effective and efficient operational capability.
* Proven people management skills in a large (10+) team.
* Experience of working in a large/FTSE100 company.
* Data Centre/Core Network management experience preferable.
* Confident working across a multi-disciplined IT environment and diverse business
* Understanding of IT management processes
* Good technical knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure environments
* Toolset skills for all aspects of this role

* Able to work under pressure
