Network Engineer

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join a highly collaborative and proactive team supporting a diverse organisation.

We are expanding the infrastructure team at PA Media Group with the addition of a Network Engineer. The infrastructure team delivers project and change, as well as BAU support and escalation, across our diverse Group. It covers office and data centre infrastructures and connectivity into cloud services.

The Network Engineer will play a pivotal role in resolving and managing network related Incidents, liaising with service providers and 3rd parties, problem management and other internal teams to ensure successful resolutions and service improvement. You’ll need excellent stakeholder engagement skills to enable you to cross team borders in the delivery of key projects, services and hardware.

What you will do:

Work closely with the other two network engineers to manage and maintain PAMG networks and services – handling day-to-day support, change, problem management and proposing improvements.
 A key member of IT operations and business projects, collaborating with other technology teams, business stakeholders and 3rd parties.
 Championing network strategy by anticipating growth and change and using that knowledge to influence network design and form well-reasoned business cases.
 Providing essential assistance and guidance to the customer service, Ops 1, Desktop Support and DevOps teams in relation to network incidents, change and service requests.
 Maintaining and monitoring network security, processes, and policy to safeguard users and services. And contributing to security developments as part of audits, tenders, and certification.
 Involved in team and project planning to assess priorities.
 Contribute to performance and capacity data, as well as specialist input to Service Design, Transition, Risk Management and Service Improvement.

What you’ll need:

Are you …?

Cisco certified with a proven experience of deploying and maintaining network services and following best practice?
 Knowledge around on-premise and cloud virtualisation technologies?
 Experience working within an ITIL-based environment?

Do you have …?

Excellent written and verbal skills to articulate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences; contribute to debate; and achieve positive outcomes?
 A keen interest in networking and infrastructure technologies and take pride in your work?
 An analytical approach to requirements gathering, troubleshooting and decision-making?

Please Note …

This role is office based but visits to other sites, including international travel, to both PA Media Group and 3rd party suppliers may be required. This role has 5/7, 37.5 hours pw contract with core hours Mon-Fri. Saturdays and Sunday may be required as per business needs.

This role runs 24/7 x 365 services. Core hours are between 08:00 – 18:00 with hours 18:00 – 08:00 covered on-please apply a rota basis.
