My client, based in the Sheffield 9 area, is a supplier to a range of industries including Oil & Gas, Aerospace and Automotive industries. They have an opportunity for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Leader who is skilled in both mechanical and electrical disciplines

Working in a “hands on “ role the main duties are:

To supervise the maintenance team controlling day to day activities, PM schedules and assisting the engineering manager.
Operation of a preventative maintenance program across a wide range of machines and factory services
Respond to machine breakdowns and establish an action plan to quickly return that machine to production in a safe condition.
Identify improvements to machinery and implement changes with minimal effect to production schedules.
Review and report the need for update of applicable work instructions and shop floor quality controls.
Contribute to and implement engineering project work in line with the company improvement program.
Induct and control contractor on site to work within safe working practices.
Mentor and lead younger members of the maintenance team.
Assist the Engineering Manager and Operation Manager as required.
Ensure good communication between all maintenance technicians, engineering and the manager.
Actively participate in generating, improving and completing PM schedules.
Guide and mentor younger members of the team.

The ideal candidate will be:

Apprentice trained or equivalent in an electrical or mechanical discipline
Experienced in a machine tool environment maintaining a variety of equipment
Skilled in fabrication work and able to fault finder on hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
Hands on, organised with good problem solving skills
Able to supervise / motivate a small team
IT Literate with excellent communication skills

Working primarily on a day shift, candidates need to be flexible to carry out overtime / shift working where necessary to meet the demands of the business
