Mechanical / Design Engineer

The Role:

An excellent opportunity to join a well established and growing specialist vehicle manufacturer that is the market leader within their particular market segment.

My client is looking for an experienced Mechanical/Design Engineer to join their busy Research, Development and Design Department. The new role will involve assisting in the design and development of new products of body and chassis structures, from conception through to manufacturing and completion stage as well as ongoing improvements to the existing product range.

This will involve developing and supplying technical drawing to the manufacturing operation as well as liaising with the production team and customers on design related issues. This position will involve assisting with research and development and offering a degree of after sales support and customer service.

The successful candidate will be degree or equivalent educated in an engineering, automotive or mechanical discipline, have experience in engineering, be mechanically competent and posses excellent trouble shooting skills, be experienced in 3D CAD software, ideally PTC Creo/Pro Engineer and be proficient in Microsoft office. The successful candidate should also have experience of body engineering, vehicle systems, chassis design and structures, as well as experience with metal fabrications and metal structures.
