Title: Materials Testing Technician

My client requires an experienced Materials Testing Technician wo work on testing steel and plastic materials.
Previous experience required in:
Laboratory work within a manufacturing environment.
Assisting and performing tests on composite materials.
Typically mechanical testing, but also testing on purpose build equipment.

The successful Materials Testing Technician must have previous experience in a laboratory.
Should have previous experience in materials and testing.

As a skilled Materials Testing Technician you will also be required to carry out the following duties:
-Handling and interpreting test data.
-Use Microsoft Office.
-Hands-on, practical, aptitude for mechanical work
-Sample preparation and setting up equipment.
-Communicate and work with others as well as work alone.
-Material validation and certification for production.
-Time management; working to strict deadlines
-Working within an ISO 9000 accredited organization.
-Contributing and assisting team during quality and approval society audits.

Materials Testing Technician will also need to be skilled in Calibration:
Operating and maintaining an existing gauge management system. This involves working with external calibration bodies to ensure all calibrated equipment used by manufacturing is calibrated to required standard.
Familiarity with standards and similar systems an advantage.
