As a chemist or materials scientist holding a BSc, MSc or PhD in materials science, materials chemistry or chemical engineering you will join a global R&D function within their innovation area. You will use your materials characterisation techniques (SEM, XRD, XRF and ICP) to assist in the direction and delivery of technical projects involving the assessment and development novel technologies and materials.

This will be a technically challenging position with a global company, applying your materials characterisation knowledge to the development of new materials.

The work schedule is highly variable in levels of complexity and end-application. Simultaneously, there is the opportunity to work with project teams to develop new materials properties for future product lines bringing your own technical expertise on materials functionality.

Essential requirements

• BSc, MSc or PhD in materials science, materials chemistry, chemical engineering or related subjects.

• Must have commercial within an industrial production or commercial research environment.
• Required to have experience in SEM, XRD, ICP and XRF (minimum 3 of 4) and catalysis or filtration or pulp and paper applications
• Salary: £33,600 – £38,400(dependent on experience) plus benefits and 25 days leave per year
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Evidence of competency in the effective application of project management, and business tools and processes
