The Company

A profitable and growing privately owned precision engineering business, t/o in excess of £17m, with a market leading brand name, exporting 90% of output globally.

The Role: Manufacturing Director

– Play a major role as a Board Director, in developing and implementing strategic plans to achieve company defined targets for long-term growth and profitability.
– Further develop a flexible and customer focused manufacturing operation to achieve the growth plans of the Business in line with Customer Service and Quality ethos of the Company.

– Achieve output in line with production/sales plans to cost, quality, delivery requirements.

– Lead, develop and inspire, to create the necessary “flexible” capacity to achieve targets, minimise lead time, meet customer demand and achieve the Business Plan.

– Further develop technological and manufacturing knowledge base to sustain the business, provide leading edge products and manufacturing advantage.

The Candidate: Manufacturing Director

– Ideally a degree level qualification in an engineering discipline (preferably mechanical), possibly MBA, but certainly coupled with excellent business training and experience.
– A demonstrable track record of success in a senior manufacturing management role within a fast paced technical/engineering sector, employing modern manufacturing philosophy e.g. Precision engineering experience within automotive or aerospace.

– Experience in “make to order”, CNC, CAD/CAM, heat treatment, data capture systems and quality management tools such as SPC would be advantageous.

– A sharp strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement a vision.
– Confident and assertive communicator with highly developed influencing skills.

– An excellent people manager, you will be able to harness the talents of others and develop your team, engaging all to drive improvements to achieve business targets.
