Manufacturing Systems Software Engineer Greater Manchester – £28k -£38K + Bonus Electronics
The Role:
The Manufacturing Systems Software Engineer will join a team responsible for specifying, designing, delivering, and maintaining hardware and software for in-house manufacturing systems and equipment.
Programming in C and scripting on Linux: shell, awk, PHP, HTML, SQL;
Design of software for manufacturing systems;
Maintenance and improvement of existing software, C/linux;
Supporting production engineers with data analysis and fault finding on production systems and products;
Contribute to the development of a fast paced, high performing team with strong continuous improvement of process, code execution and feature development;
React and respond to changing priorities and apply changes to test approaches to ensure most effective test plans.
The Candidate:
The successful candidate will be educated to Degree level or equivalent and has experience of working within a high volume electronic manufacturer. The candidate will be an expert in programming in C and scripting on Linux platforms and will ideally have experience in SQL and HTML. Some familiarity with electronics and physics, and competency in mathematics to A-level are required. Experience of communicating with devices (RS232, USB), Ethernet software, multi-threaded coding, Linux system admin, and database admin (Postgres), are all desirable.
The candidate will be able to work closely with end users and engineers to devise simple and elegant solutions to complex manufacturing requirements. The candidate will be keen to work in a small close-knit team using agile programming methods.
