Maintenance Electrician

This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Electrician to join our client based in Bridgnorth. Our client is a quality supplier of aluminium rolled products and they are looking for a Maintenance Electrician to detect and solve electrical faults on various electrical equipment on site and to carry out preventative maintenance on specific equipment as directed and install new equipment when necessary.

Working as the Maintenance Electrician you will be involved in the below;
*Receives instructions from the Leading Technician
*Detect, localise and rectify electrical faults on plant and equipment throughout the site.
*Perform planned and preventative maintenance on equipment as directed.
*Work with minimum of direct supervision on allotted tasks within nationally recognised regulations and company procedures.
*Produce diagrams for communication purposes, explaining problems and suggestions for repair. *Perform other tasks related to the work of the maintenance department as directed by the Leading Technician.
*Instruct trainees when necessary.
*Keep areas of work in a clean and tidy condition.
*Following a period of training to undertake repairs and routine quality checks to X-ray gauge systems. *Ensure safe working practices are understood and adhered to.
*To ensure that logs are kept of shift activities and locations relating to breakdown and planned maintenance activities, and that job cards are completed as appropriate.
*To assist with the covering of holidays and illness

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a similar position and will have the ability to perform fault finding tasks on PLC’s (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley) via programming tool. You will have a general knowledge of AC and DC motors and also AC and DC drive technology. 17th Edition Wiring Regulations is essential as well as the ability to read and understand electrical schematic drawings.

Please note this position includes nights.
