Salary: £162 – £168 per day
Our client is a leading and well established player in the Digital Asset and Cryptocurrency trading industry. The business is going form strength to strength and they are currently going through a period of exponential growth.
As a consequence the need has arisen for an additional Mac Desktop Engineer to manage their end user computing and mobile device management estate among other IT related activities.

THE ROLE: Mac Desktop Engineer
* On-boarding/off-boarding of the company’s employees and contractors, providing 1st level face-to-face or over the please apply desktop and hardware issues.
* Maintain our MacOS desktop environment, including hardware provisioning, configuration, software installation and upgrades for new and current employees.
* Creating user guides and documenting issues and resolutions.
* Maintain high levels of IT system security and compliance with regulatory standards.
* Design and implement backup solutions.
* Document infrastructure system changes based on standard operating procedures.
* Assist Infrastructure team with project work.
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Mac Desktop Engineer
* 2 to 3 years experience in a related field or role, ideally in a pressured and fast-paced environment such as electronic trading.
* Hands-on experience with MacOS and ideally, some Linux system administration.
* Experience in troubleshooting network and application issues.
* Working knowledge of IAM and SSO solutions such as LDAP, Okta etc.
* Experience using Jamf to manage MacOS devices.
* Knowledge of network protocols and VPN technologies (IPSec, OpenVPN etc.).
* Knowledge of systems and network hardening and security principles.
* Practical experience in one scripting language (preferably Shell scripting, Python).
* Self-starter with fluent communication in written and spoken English.
DESIRABLE SKILLS: Mac Desktop Engineer
* Experience in database administration (MySQL, Mongo etc.).
* Exposure to cloud technologies (preferably AWS).
* Exposure to Linux System Administration
* Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes.
* CI/CD pipelines and best practices, Git (familiarity with Maven or a similar toolchain is an added bonus).
* Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Ansible/Puppet.
