Looked After Children’s Advisor

The gap between the achievement of our children in care is changing and improving!
We are determined to challenge and improve our services so that our most vulnerable children have a better chance of a successful adult life. We are seeking a passionate, dynamic professional to take on this exciting new role working with our schools and partners to narrow the achievement gap for this group.
You will:
Provide advice and support on effective teaching and learning strategies to teachers, social workers and carers,
You will help raise aspirations and narrow the achievement gap so that children looked after can make accelerated progress.
NB: This role is full time on an interim basis initially.
Essentials:
Must be either a qualified teacher with at least 5 years experience or similar experience within Children’s Services. Middle leadership experience with a track record of proven excellence will be essential. Deputy Heads or senior teaching staff are welcome to apply.
A coherent understanding of Ofsted in regards to schools and childrens services.
Experience of working with children looked after would be a very strong advantage.
The role will involve some travelling around the county, therefore a current driving license and access to transport is required.
Enhanced DBS.
Eligible to work in the UK.
