Job Title: Logistics Clerk

Location: Greenford, Middlesex

Introduction:
Our client, based in Greenford has an immediate requirement for a Logistics Clerk to join their existing team. They will work within a fast paced environment and will be responsible for dispatching company shipments as per company policy and procedure and to carry out administrative duties as required. The successful candidate must have a strong background within administration and will ideally hold experience within a busy logistics environment.

Please note: Due to the nature of our client’s business, you will be required to provide continuous working / education history over the past five years.

This vacancy presents itself as an exciting opportunity for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces (Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Logistics and have worked within a similar role i.e. supplier, stores person, warehouse administrator), However, applications from all suitable candidates, ex military or not, will be considered.

Responsibilities:
– Enter all necessary data on to the in-house computer system.
– Communicate with customers via telephone, e-mail and fax.
– Organise, manage and file own paperwork.
– File general departmental paperwork when required.
– Carry out general office duties.
– Share the responsibility for data-entry along with other members of the department.
– Provide general back up to the Logistics Team Leader and Logistics Manager.
– Complete the ‘Track and Trace’ process using the internet.
– Carry out the dispatch process including preparing dispatch notes using the Durbin in-house system.
– Raise Airway Bills and prepare all other relevant logistics paperwork.
– Prepare all labels and labelling for dispatch of goods.
– Prepare all necessary paperwork for various courier, freight and shipping services.
– Prepare invoices using the Durbin in-house system.
– Provide an excellent level of service to all internal and external customers.
– Other duties which may be reasonably required from time to time by company managers, including delegated duties during the absence of colleagues.

Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
– The successful candidate must have a previous strong administrative background.
– Logistics documentation and freight experience (air, land and sea).
– Fast and accurate data entry skills.
– Excellent customer service skills.
– Knowledge of freight documentation.
– Ability to work unsupervised and also as part of a team.
– Keen eye for attention to detail.
– Ability to organise and prioritise own workload.
– Excellent communication skills.
– IT Literate: MS Office.
Desirable:
– Knowledge of NES/Customs Entry/Chief, dangerous goods or pharmaceuticals.
