Job Description
Title: Business Analyst
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst with expertise in the Life and Pensions industry to join our team. As a Business Analyst, you will play a vital role in assessing viable scenarios for letter production, guiding a team in prioritising likely high-volume scenarios, and preventing the pursuit of unlikely or impossible scenarios. In addition, you will lead a team of data analysts in fixing defects associated with data mapping.
Responsibilities:
– Review Life and Pensions system outputs and prioritise likely scenarios
– Provide guidance to the team on the least likely scenarios
– Lead data analysts in the mapping process between output XML/data files and letter templates
– Possess knowledge and guidance on pension regulation related to annual statements, KFIs, tax letters, and claims documents
– Assess defects raised by the business to identify the root cause of failure and implement appropriate fixes
– Collaborate closely with test analysts to evaluate the business viability of test cases in terms of volume and regulatory compliance
– Work with Pensions system Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine appropriate approaches for defect resolution, whether it be data sourcing or data mapping
– Collaborate with SMEs and the customer to address defect resolution
– Be a self-starter and work effectively without supervision
Qualifications:
– At least 10 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the pension industry
– Strong expertise in Life and Pensions systems and processes
– Excellent understanding of pension regulation, including annual statements, KFIs, tax letters, and claims documents
– Proven track record of successfully leading and guiding teams
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Effective communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work remotely, with occasional on-site presence as required

– This role falls within IR35.
– The position is mainly remote, with very occasional on-site work in the next 4 months.
