Our client is a market leader in the PVC compound industry. They supply literally thousands of compounds and dry blends to a vast array of customers across the globe.

As a result of their continued expansion they are now looking to hire a new role for a Laboratory and Sample Technician. Working as part of a team of 6 the role will be as follows:

Small scale sample preparation – 2kg – 100kg
Weighing, preparation and mixing of lab scale dry blends for testing
Analysis and testing including:

Extrusion
Gel Time Analysis
Heat Stability
Colour Analysis
Metals Analysis – Using ICP OES

In addition to the above the role will also involve a significant amount of method development and preparation of safe working practices and standard operating procedures for new equipment. Candidates must be prepared to do some lifting as part of the role.

This new and exciting opportunity is fundamental to the growth of the business and they are looking for a Laboratory Technician who is eager to help develop this part of their offering. The role will provide a strong link between technical services and the sales team. Good IT and problem solving skills are essential, as is a willingness to learn.

Candidates should have a BSc in Chemistry (or similar) and some analytical experience
