Laboratory Technician

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per year

My clients are a very well-established manufacturing company based in Tameside. We are now looking for them a Laboratory Assistant You will be joining a highly successful company who can offer a massive amount of stability, longevity and security. 

Salary with shift allowance – £26,000 – £30,000 per annum.

Without shift allowance – £ hours per week

Shifts (0600-1400/1400-22 Mon to Thu, 0600-1200/1200-1800 Fri)

This working pattern is under a 3 monthly review and may revert to days at some point in the future (0730-1630)

30 minute Paid Lunch Break.

28 days holiday inc. stat rising to 29 including stat after completion of 1 holiday year

3 month probationary period following

Auto enrolled into Pension …Co pays 4% & employee 3% of total earnings

Life Assurance x 1

Chemist testing our fabrics and colours to ensure they are consistent and meet our expected high standards.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

• Testing uncoated and coated fabric.
• Testing liquor samples, including viscosity and colour.
• matching and corrections (drawdown cards, liquor, digital print).
• Updating the Works Order Spreadsheet.
• Supporting mixing room when required.
• Q.C. checks of raw materials.
• Recording test results.
• Assist laboratory technician and chemist.

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

• Calibration of laboratory equipment.
• To undertake any other projects as defined by the General Manager.

Essential Criteria:

Experience in a laboratory environment.

Desirable Criteria:

Recognised qualification in textile and colour chemistry.

Experience in a textile manufacturing environment.

Experience in colour matching.
