Laboratory Analyst

Location: Bracknell, RG42

Salary: £30,000+ overtime + benefits + great career progression

Our client is the UK’s leading independent scientific group, providing laboratory analysis to the agriculture, food, and environmental sectors. We are now looking for these talented individuals to join their team as Laboratory Analyst on a permanent basis.

The role of Laboratory Analyst will be to extract and analyse the:

  • pH in soil samples
  • Phosphorous in soil samples
  • Potassium and Magnesium in soil samples

You be fully trained on various automated instrumentation to work in these specific sections of the business.

Full Training will be provided, and no experience is necessary.

The role:

  • Lift batch trays containing soils to be analysed and prepare for analysis
  • Calibrate instruments and analyse soils
  • Transfer data using our specialist system.
  • Check data is correct before releasing results.
  • Perform maintenance on the instrument when require.
  • To work in other analytical roles within the company as the workload dictates.
  • Respect company equipment and use as per guidelines and to report any damage to management as soon as possible.
  • Work as a team and maintain morale and actively offer help and assistance wherever possible
  • Understand and follow the Standard Operating Procedures provided

The person:

  • Enthusiasm, energy, and ability to handle high levels of workload which include repetitive, but interesting work
  • Must be able to work effectively and collaborate within own team and other sections.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks with high attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work alone.
  • Comfortable with a physical role

Working Hours:

Ability to work on either of the following shifts:

  • 7am – 15.00pm
  • 8am – 16.00pm
  • 10am-18.00pm

Experience of working in a fast paced, busy environment and working between department is desirable but full ongoing training and development opportunities will be given to all.
