Trainee Forensic Laboratory Analyst

Alere Forensics are the UKs leading drug and alcohol testing provider, they are currently looking for a Trainee Forensic Laboratory Analyst to join their team in Malvern. You will be responsible for undertaking analysis and laboratory investigations of biological and other samples for the presence of drugs, poisons and related compounds.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Undertake analysis of biological and other samples using different techniques, e.g. HPLC-DAD, LCMS, GC-HS, GC-MS/MS, etc.
• Handling of biological samples, chemicals and gases
• Operation of technical equipment (e.g. mass-spectrometers, etc.) including maintenance following training
• Apply quality control procedures, support and work within the laboratory quality system
• Work effectively as part of a team and use own initiative as necessary
• Support/assist Forensic Laboratory Assistant duties as and when required if deemed necessary to ensure effective service provision
Full training will be given.
The successful candidate will have as a minimum a good science A Level with appropriate laboratory experience, although a BSc Science degree and some analytical experience would be preferred.
