Lab Based Manufacturing Technician

Manufacture, formulation of primers, following appropriate processing procedures.

Will be required to perform in-process quality control testing of product and assess suitability for further processing. Records test results on batch documentation and may, depending on product type, either: 1) Self-approve and carry materials forward for further processing or 2) Recommend approved status to manager and, after review by manager, carry materials forward for further processing.

Cleans and sanitises laboratory equipment and environment with a focus on contamination control. Calibrates basic laboratory instruments and ensures calibration is performed on time by way of monitoring and updating the CMMS for equipment.

Both leads and contributes to process improvement projects internal and external to the department. Contributes towards the troubleshooting and resolution of material quality issues.

Responsible for supporting and complying with Company safety and hazardous waste management programme, including following safe hazardous waste handling and good housekeeping. Ensures and maintains clean, orderly and safe laboratory work areas. Safety equipment and special precautions are required when working in the manufacturing/laboratory areas.
