IT Technician – IT Support

As an IT Technician you will join a small team of support staff that are responsible for providing internal technical support over a diverse range of technologies, as well as maintaining a secure and high availability IT infrastructure.

Utilising your broad knowledge of IT skills you will be involved establishing and maintaining the IT infrastructure with a responsible attitude towards confidentiality and cyber security.

The IT technician position is a high profile role where the successful candidate will be interacting with all aspects of the business from Founders and Directors to spin-off companies.

The IT technician role is subject to the applicant being able to gain SC security clearance.

You will effect solutions to a variety of IT issues and projects through a confident, self-motivated and enthusiastic approach, having good troubleshooting and time management skills

REQUIREMENTS

To meet the requirements of this role, you will:

Have relevant qualifications with previous experience and knowledge of what is entailed in an IT support role

Have excellent IT troubleshooting skills with the initiative to find innovative technical solutions

Be able to setup, deploy and support new Desktops/Laptops

Be experienced in Microsoft operating systems (Windows Desktop, Server)

Assist in regular server and network management tasks (some out of normal office hours)

Have a genuine keenness to learn new technologies

Be able to log support calls and provide timely updates/solutions to users

Have a willingness to undertake the mundane routines (daily health/security checks, backups,

Be experienced in maintaining OS/third party application patch levels and security definitions

Have excellent English language skills

Experience of Netapp Storage devices

Experience of Unified Threat Management/Firewall appliances

Experience of Active Directory and Group Policy Management

An understanding of good Cyber Security practices

A willingness to learn new IT skills

Knowledge of PowerShell
