Salary: £48,000 – £54,000 per year
Software consultancy 25 people in the company but a leader in their field are looking for an experienced IT System Administrator.
You will find a friendly family but demanding atmosphere where he/she will be able to grow in his/her role.
Main Responsibilities
* Move and maintain some of the business critical systems to the Microsoft Azure cloud: SQL, MySQL, websites, applications
* Ensure integrity of cloud infrastructure in terms of security, virus protection, performance and contingency planning
* Build / install / upgrade of servers, desktops and laptops.
* After a brief induction period, the person will be expected to join the rota support and to be on call for out-of-hours support.
* Review and recommend options to improve the effectiveness of group infrastructure. Establish / maintain best practices, processes and procedures to underpin the operations of the business
* Provide close liaison with Data Analysis and Software Development project teams to ensure the smooth transition of new applications, systems and initiatives into Speedwell Weather’s Production environment
Experience
You must have good-excellent working knowledge/understanding of the following products/technologies:
* Microsoft Azure cloud platform
* Management of desktop and server OSes – server & application management in a Linux, MS Windows Desktop & Windows Server environment
* Using and resolving service issues relating to DNS, DHCP, SMTP, Web & FTP based services, along with a good understanding of the principles behind each.
it is important that you should be able to work in a small team and be suitably experienced in utilising your own initiative in analysing and resolving technical issues, as well as having an ability to be able to solve a difficult problem.
Other Desirable Skills
* Familiarity with security technologies and practises (Firewalls, VPNs, MFA, AV etc..).
* Ability to read and assess vulnerability and Security Event information logs and reports.
* Linux knowledge
