IT Support Engineer Oldbury

Office/field based IT Support Engineer required to cover SME client in the West Midlands area.

Salary: £26,000 – £30,000per year+ Company Car

Work hours: Mon – Thurs 8.45am – 5.30pm & Fri 8.45am – 5.00pm

The ability to work the occasional Saturday is required.

We require and highly experienced engineer with a background working in a similar role. The ideal candidate will be able to hit the ground running and provide great customer service and technical expertise. We are looking for someone with a great personality, good attitude, self-motivated and confident enough to work unaided when required.

Experience in the following is required / beneficial:-

Microsoft Windows 7/8 operating systems

Microsoft Office all versions including 365

Cloud Services for Anti-Virus, email filtering, remote management and offsite backup

Sage Line 50 networking installation

HP Server build and configuration

Microsoft Server up to latest version including SBS

Installing Servers and migrating email platforms

Microsoft Exchange and Active directory configuration

Firewalls, routers, switches and access points

VPN (Site to Site), Mobile and SSL

Macintosh and Android integration for email, printing and remote access

Server virtualisation (VMWare, Hyper-V, XenServer)

Hosted Desktop and Remote Desktop Services

Role would include:-

Assisting customers via phone and remotely

Visiting customer`s premises to resolve issues

Visiting customer`s premises to install/upgrade/swap out equipment/deliveries

Monitoring support logs, emails and carrying out preventative maintenance

Liaising with suppliers

Updating documentation

Identifying/creating possible sales opportunities

Other notes:-

A clean driving license is preferred.
