IT Senior Systems Support Engineer / Specialist

IT Senior Systems Support Engineer / Specialist (x2) required for temp to perm opportunity based near Slough, Berkshire.

Working for a large, well-established Public Sector organisation, we have the opportunity for two permanent positions of a Technical System Specialist. You have the option of working directly on a permanent basis with the client, or starting on a contract basis with the view to becoming a permanent member of staff within 3 months.

Main responsibilities and duties:

* To provide expert-level support and maintenance of the system infrastructure and services for the Trust on the main campus and all offsite locations.

* In addition, the provision of support and advice to other IT staff, Trust managers and end-users on the use and management of IT System and servers hardware and software.

* Undertake new IT Infrastructure projects which may be high complex with multiple dependencies. Where require lead on planning, implementation and commissioning of new systems and services.

* Taking day to day responsibility for the provision of system support, and to take a key role in deployments and troubleshooting.

* Performing detailed system monitoring and produce performance reports

* Assist in planning and implementing complex and high value IT Infrastructure projects

* Providing support to service calls and requests from the Trusts’ IT Service Desk.

For this role you need to have previous experience of working within a Senior Technical Systems / Lead Engineer position with experience within the following technologies: MS Windows Server 2003/8/12, MS Exchange Server 2003/10, MS SQL Server, Citrix, VMware, Desktop Virtualisation, SAN, NAS.

This role is to start ASAP on a contract basis on a rate of £20.00 ltd/umbrella per hour. If permanent application – the salary expectations will be between £34,800 – £37,200 + benefits / pension depending on your level of experience.
