IT Senior Support Engineer – Microsoft – VMWare – Windows 7 – Support – Exchange – North Hampshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a multi-disciplined organisation, based in North Hampshire. Joining a small team, working within IT Support within their internal systems.

The role involves the general support of the in-house computer systems, from PCs to telephony and networking. Working in an office of around 40 people, with dependants throughout Europe. You will be taking a lead of support of the internal systems, from server maintenance to software roll outs, and also be contributing to the general help desk support of the company.

The systems are all Windows based, with use of VMware and Cisco systems.

A passion for IT is a must! As the team is small, you will gain hands-on experience quickly, in multiple areas of IT Support and it is important to have a pro-active approach to your work.

The role will require you to work 1 day a week in a smaller office in London (travel subsidised).

As a member of the IT Support team you will be:

– Supporting all end users throughout the in-house system

– Contributing a 60/40 split between Internal System maintenance and service desk support

– Working on the configuration, installation and support of company networks, email, intranet and systems

– Maintaining various areas of hardware and software; Desktops, peripherals, servers etc.

– Administering daily back-ups, logs and reports. Including the monitoring of PC performance

– Testing new software and hardware platforms, before rollout, accounting for any possible issues

– Documenting errors, failures and hardware removals accurately and in a timely fashion

– Keeping up to date with the world of IT, possibly using your knowledge to implement new ideas and strategies
