Interim Operations Director

Interim Operations Director – South Coast – circa £550/day

An Interim Operations Director is required for a high precision machining business based on the South Coast. Knowledge and experience of working within a bespoke/specials machined product environment is required. It is essential that you understand close tolerance CNC work and how to plan and schedule a busy machine shop to ensure that throughput efficiency and delivery deadlines are met.

To be considered for the position of Interim Operations Director you will:-

– Have experience working as an Operations Director or similar operations based role within a machined component environment.

– Have a track record that demonstrates an ability to successfully turnaround a struggling business or large production department.

– Have at least 5 years production management experience and be comfortable working on the shop floor and directing shop floor improvement programmes.

– Have a clear understanding of how to manage and plan special one off complex machined products and achieve demanding OTIF delivery deadlines.

– Have previous experience and a track record of creating a culture of sustainable improvement, developing people and delivering results

– Have the ability to work with customers and develop strong working relationships based on excellent customer service.

– Have the capability energy and drive to hit the ground running and make an impact from day one.

This will be a challenging role requiring tenacity, strength of character and the ability to lead a business through a period of change and transition. It is likely that the duration of this assignment will be for six months.
