Salary: £66,000 – £78,000 per year

Infrastructure Engineer – |Enterprise storage | EMC | NetApp | VMware

A global media organisation is looking for an infrastructure engineer in their West London offices. The company work in an enterprise environment and you will be working on major projects as well as BAU. You will have responsibilities that include making design and strategic decisions for the projects whist working alongside the Infrastructure Manager.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

– Monitoring, availability, performance and support of the infrastructure across the UK 
– Project work including upgrading systems and integrating new acquisitions 
– Proposing technically and commercially sound recommendations on how to continually improve the environments
– Working closely with the IT team in Paris to centralise applications, servers and services into the datacentres

Skills required for the infrastructure engineer (skills in bold are essential):

You will be expected to have a significant level of experience in the majority of the following areas, gained through working for 5 years or more in similar roles:

– Server Operating System: Windows 2003/2008/2012 R2 (Ideally certified).
– VMWARE 5.1/5.5 (Ideally certified to VCP5 Level)
– Enterprise level storage solutions (HP MSA/EVA, SAN, NAS/NetApp)
– Server Infrastructure Hardware (HP, Dell, IBM)
– DNS/DHCP Administration (Windows and Novell OES2 platforms)
– Directory Management / Maintenance (Active Directory)
– Clustering Technologies (MSCS)
– Data Centre Rack Management
– DR Solution Exposure
– Server network connectivity and teaming
– Understanding of network fundamentals (routing, subnetting)
– Set-up and management of trust relationships as part of server consolidation
– SQL Database, SharePoint and IIS administration and management.
