Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £44,400 – £50,400 per year

Howdens Joinery are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our Infrastructure team.

We are a FTSE 100 business which has a large investment in on premise and Cloud infrastructure.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, this is a great opportunity for a technical professional with a strong desire to continuously learn, to join our Technical Operations team as we continue our investment in both our Datacentres and Cloud technologies.

What you will be doing:

Implement, manage, and provide 2 nd /3 rd line support for a wide range of Infrastructure hardware including our VMware estate, servers & storage arrays.
Participate in IT Projects, implement approved designs and transition change into BAU.
What we need from you:

Experience of running of VMWare & server infrastructure.
Experience of enterprise storage
Advanced knowledge of Backup and recovery tools
Knowledge of Linux operating system
Analytical approach with good fault-finding skills.
Orchestration, automation, and scripting
A track record of continuous service improvement.
Exceptional communication skills – both written and verbal – including developing and delivering presentations to a variety of audiences.
Highly organised and decisive with good prioritisation skills to balance key priorities.
A real team player, who rolls up their sleeves and can take in ideas and views from all levels
Any knowledge of VMWare VRealize is advantageous
