Job Title: Income/Cost Accountant

Rate: Negotiable
Contract: 3-6 MonthsReal Staffing are working in partnership with an NHS Acute Trust in the South East, who require a hands-on Income or Cost Accountant to provide all-round support to an understaffed area of the department. Due to the make-up of the income and costing team, the trust has the flexibility to mould the position around the successful candidate’s skill set.

This is an ideal opportunity for an Income or Cost Accountant who is looking to play a significant role in ensuring the Finance Team achieves its challenging monthly targets.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to engage in pioneering project work within a leading trust.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

Handling income queries and disputes
Monitoring the income of provider contracts
Providing income variance analysis and interpretation
Invoicing and billing of trust SLAs
Month end closure of accounts
Data manipulation through Excel pivot tables
Creating income tables for board reports
Generating SLAM financial reports
Advising on financial implications of PbR changes
Liaising with budget holders and management
Supporting Education Cost submissions
Collecting and submitting Reference Cost data
Assisting with Service Line Reporting and Patient Level CostingEssential skills:

Contracted within an NHS Acute Trust
CCAB Part-Qualified
Operated as an Income or Cost Accountant
Knowledge of NHS principles (SLR, PLICS, PbR)
Strong system skills (Excel, Oracle)PLEASE NOTE: Candidates without all of the essential skills listed above will not be considered suitable for this position.

Rate is negotiable and will be determined based on the quality and experience of the successful applicant.
