Position: Senior HR Officer
Location: Gloucester
Salary: £38,400 – £39,600 plus £4k annual bonus potential
Working Hours: 09.00 to 17.30 (or hours needed to complete the task)

ROLE:
The Senior HR Officer / HR Advisor executes the day to day provision of Human Resources Services, policies and procedures and also provides support on key business projects. You will manage the work of reporting HR Admin staff and encourage the on-going development of the team and individuals within it.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Supports the continuing review of all HR policies, programs and practices implementing changes where necessary and updating the HR Manager.
b) Partners with Management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws. Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.
c) Promotes the adherence to statutory grievance procedures and acts as an adjudicator in sensitive cases when employee complaints or concerns are brought forward, including informal dispute resolution/mediation approaches.
d) Supports the implementation of performance improvement processes with non-performing employees. Promote the adherence to Statutory Redundancy procedures where applicable including leading Consultation processes and directly supporting line management through this process. Reviews, guides and advises on management recommendations for employment terminations.
e) Involvement in organisation development, to include issues such as succession planning, workforce development, employee engagement, employee retention, organisation design, restructuring and change management.
f) Manages and supports line managers with Absence management issues including Long Term absence and occupational health initiatives
g) Recruitment – interviewing, short listing, assessment support and careers fairs.
h) Checking of offer letters, contracts and variations to contracts to ensure accuracy. Provide Managers with sound and consistent advice. Includes support of probation review solutions, note taking at meetings where required and confirmation letters.
i) Assisting the HR Manager in updating and amending HR policies and procedures and communication of them to staff and management, and propose HR process improvements as necessary to streamline administration where possible.
j) To conduct exit interviews where necessary and assist with turnover analysis escalating issues of concern to the HR Manager if appropriate. Assist with the co-ordination of training programmes both internal and external, and to include Capability, Disciplinary and Recruitment training for managers.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Good understanding of employment law and employee relations.
b) Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
c) HR database experience.
d) A self-motivated individual with the ability to work on his or her own initiative.
e) Flexible approach to working, able to work under pressure in a fast, dynamic and driven environment.
f) Well organised, with the ability to manage own time and prioritise workload.
g) Ability to make decisions in line with business, customer and client needs.
h) CIPD qualified with active affiliation.
i) Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
j) Sound progression through Human Resources positions.
You may have experience of the following: HR Officer, Human Resources, HRBP, CIPD, HR Consultant, Certificate in Personnel Development, HR Advisor etc.
