Salary: £30,000 – £33,600 per year

The HR Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support and will work closely with members of the HR team to ensure tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.

Responsibilities (Specific day-to-day responsibilities and milestones needed to achieve the objectives):

Respond to all HR administration related queries in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare all HR documentation required as a result of queries or a request in accordance with standard templates ensuring content is accurate and relevant to the circumstance.
Provide guidance to managers and employees about the completion of all HR administration forms.
Regularly assist other HR Administrators with filing into personnel files.
Provide support to Employee Relations activity as directed by the HR Advisor.
Support the Rewards initiatives as required.
Process all New Starters (inc creating contract, reference checks, updating Workday, induction queries) and manage new starter induction programme with other HR Administrators.
Process requests for and advise on Family Friendly Leave policy and procedure.
Assist HR Adviser with flexible working requests.
Assist HR Adviser with taking meeting notes.
Advise on benefits queries.
Process resignations, external reference requests, gym subsidy applications, long service awards.
Manage probation process admin.
Assist other HR Assistants with the new starter Induction, with the opportunity to lead the Induction over time.
Liaise with payroll department to ensure changes are effected in a timely manner and in line with payroll deadlines.
Provide a high level of customer service at all times
Provide ad hoc office administration
Follows clearly defined HR policies and procedures.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Preferred work experience in a busy HR team or office administration, or work experience gained from school/college.
Strong data input/computer skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills – communicates clearly and regularly at all levels, adopting style according to the situation and audience.
Experience of working to deadlines and the ability to prioritise and manage own workload, as well as help others to do so.
Proactive approach to duties, continually looking at ways to improve administration processes and encouraging others to do so.
Able to understand and value process and is customer oriented – focuses on internal customer needs at all times.
Able to demonstrate diplomacy, confidentiality and professionalism.
Collaborative team player – does not work in isolation from colleagues and uses best practice from elsewhere.
Comfortable working autonomously, using initiative to deliver overall objectives.
Comfortable dealing with large amounts of data.
Able to question people effectively, identify and evaluate risks, know when to seek guidance or escalate to others and take appropriate action to minimise issues.
Has an eye for detail and follows the rules, but uses judgement and checks when exceptions can and need to be made.
Able to understand where the consequences for the Company could be serious and escalates those matters for further assistance prior to the problem becoming serious.

Education / Certifications:

GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths
