Housing Suitability Assessment Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Suitability Assessment Officer to work within the housing department for the Local Authority on an 18 month project.

The project will focus on reviewing the accommodation arrangements for over 3000 households owed the full homelessness duty under current legislation.

As the Housing Suitability Assessment Officer you will be responsible for carrying out detailed assessments of each nominated households accommodation needs, this will involve interviewing families both in the office and in their homes.

The ideal candidate will have a general background in Housing, experience and knowledge of Homelessness is desirable but not essential. Candidates should also have experience interviewing members of the public and have the ability to empathise and demonstrate an understanding of the problems that are faced by homeless persons in finding affordable accommodation in London.
