The role will ensure the health and welfare of all colleagues on site, by promoting the correct behaviours and ensuring that all colleagues follow all processes and roles with consideration to the impact on the environment, food safety and health & safety.

Description
Roles and responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing safe working practices for all areas within the site in conjunction with the management team to minimise accidents and claims.
- Working as part of a flexible team to ensure high levels of service are achieved.
- Ensuring all new starters within the department are aware of their overall responsibilities with regards to the environment.
- Promoting good health and safety and environmental practices, leading by example, encouraging colleagues performance in any given role and process.
- Providing clear instruction to Health & Safety staff within remit, of environmental responsibilities and challenge any lapse in procedures where necessary.
- Managing and developing a food safety strategy on site, monitoring food safety procedures, collating records, auditing and training colleagues to customer and BRC standards.
- Working closely with the customers food safety & quality team department to minimize the impact of any food safety risk.
Profile
Applicants should be:
- NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
- Experienced in a HSE management position within a manufacturing environment, FMCG would be preferred although other industries will be considered.
- Possessing extensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
- Excellent communicators, with experience in dealing with a range of stakeholders.
- Self-motivated and self-disciplined with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Be driven by continuous improvement, with a high standard of work and integrity.
- Able to resolve multiple and/or complex issues while under pressure.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers and colleagues by demonstrating a high level of integrity and professionalism.
- Experienced in using Microsoft Office applications.
