Salary: £39,600 – £42,000 per year
Reporting to the Group Health and Safety Manager you will be the company’s lead competent person for health and safety as defined by the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
This will mean that you will ensure the organisation complies with current health and safety legislation approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision.
You will have worked in a similar role and possess Nebosh Diploma or equivalent. The company employ over 300 team and predominantly operate in a warehouse/distribution function.
Your role
Working as part of the team you will monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, make recommendations and implement new policies and procedures as required.
Comply with, and make positive contribution to, all company policy, rules and procedures for Health & Safety and current H&S legislation and best practice.
Support managers to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support.
Ensure that all employees understand and comply with all company policy, rules and procedures for Health & Safety and current H&S legislation and best practice.
You will have representatives for H&S within the business and will be accountable for the day to day management of all parties. You will also work to ensure all employee certifications are valid at all times.
Working with other internal parties you will establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring all aspects of H&S management and development and control departmental expenditure within agreed budgets.
Working with the Group Operations Director/team you will be accountable for Facilities Management this including building and grounds maintenance and all other associated tasks.
