Health & Safety Manager

Salary: £33,600 per year

We have an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified Health and Safety professional (NEBOSH) who has aspirations to develop their health and safety management career path. Training and support will be provided.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the Company and its employees remain legally compliant and to have a primary focus on reducing accidents and incidents of ill health through the implementation of an effective health and safety management system.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

-Maintaining our safty management platform

-Completion of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires

-Maintaining supply chain questionnaires

-Maintaining accreditations (CHAS, SMAS, Constructionline, Acclaim

-Reviewing and maintaining Health and Safety policy

-Reviewing and preparing risk assessments

-Preparing method statements

-Undertake construction site safety inspections, including the preparation of reports and working with the Operations teams to resolve any issues identified

-Maintaining the accident book

-Team member of accident investigation team

-Providing general health and safety support to the Operations Managers

-Overseeing health and safety compliance of our premises 

-Carry out safety inductions & reviews 

-Organise health and safety training including the upkeep of the training matrix and refresher training cycles

-Maintain CPD in line professional memberships.

-Working closely with health and safety consultants to ensure legislation compliance and be forward thinking in industry best practice.

-Continued up keep of the companies ISO 9001 policy

Essential Skills and Experience: 

-A NEBOSH qualification or working towards

-Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a health and safety role

-Good communication skills at both senior management and site level

-Approachable

-Recognised by peers and management and external parties as an expert in health and safety compliance

-Self motivated

-Able to work as a team member

-Ability to travel and holder of a current driving licence 

Must be able to commute to our Romford office daily

Desirable: 

1. NEBOSH Construction
2. Knowledge of construction activities
3. Membership of Tech IOSH or higher
4. A background in construction 

We would consider applicants with IOSH Managing Safely, SMSTS, NVQ levels 4 and above qualifications.
