Salary: £62,159 – £69,935 per year

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Head of Maintenance – National. Our client specialises within the property sector and has ambitious growth plans over the next 5 years. The Head of Maintenance will be accountable for all routine and recurring maintenance within the 50+ buildings throughout the UK. The ideal candidate is to have extensive experience in running a compliant estate, and they will work closely with procurement and external suppliers to implement the necessary routine maintenance, along with excellent stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build strong relationships with the operations teams.

Responsibilities:

* Experience in running regional maintenance teams will be critical as part of this role is defining and building the future team to run and maintain our client’s estate

* Tender process (contracts, projects, services) – RFQ (Request For Quotation) / RFI (Request For Information) / RFP (Request For Proposal)

* Set up central FM/Estate’s helpdesk with monthly measured Centre requests & reporting

* Subject Matter Expert (SME) and coach to Operations Managers on compliance hard and soft service delivery

* Engineering – included reactive and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance)

* Support Procurement in supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge quotation prices and aim for cost reductions to meet target costs

* Work closely with the Procurement team to ensure purchasing strategies are maximised

* Experience in leading or delivering a step change within an organisation to improve efficiency and delivery including cost processes and reporting would be beneficial

* Accountability of estates compliance across the portfolio, implementing correct action, risk management and escalation where necessary

* Undertake duties as requested by the Director to deliver and implement project works

Essential Skills:

* Health and safety knowledge & compliance experience and knowledge

* Good communication, influencing and leadership skills

* Significant experience managing programmes of more than £20m

* Reporting and analytic skills – experience in building, reading, and interpreting complex reports for stakeholders at different levels in the business

* Demonstrable track record of adding significant value and optimising programs

* Experience in delivering results through cross-functional working

* High degree of knowledge and understanding of a variety of value engineering processes and ability to evaluate and analyse associated costs

* Experience in project management, ideally in a facilities management, property services or construction environment

* Proven experience in construction/maintenance environment

* Supply chain management

* IT literate – the experience of using MS Office, Project, and AutoCAD

* Qualifications in building services, surveying, project management or construction discipline

* Experienced in managing budgets and project finance
