A bit about the role…
Protect My Property is one of the leading experts in security solutions in domestic environments, with a nationwide base of around 12,000 customers. Protect My Property are looking to recruit multi-skilled Maintenance Technicians who will attend our customers’ homes to complete scheduled work booked in by the back off teams. As this is a unique and exciting opportunity, lots of on the job training will be provided ensuring you will have the skills and knowledge required to complete the required work.
This role takes a 360 approach which allows you to build strong relationships with customers within your given geographical patch. These relationships will hopefully allow you to promote sales opportunities, provide detailed and tailored quotes on a variety of installs depending on the customer’s needs which in turn would allow for a great earning potential. You will be rewarded for any new sales you bring on-board and will follow the journey from install to completion.
Travel and hours…
We have a flexible approach to working hours here at Protect My Property, meaning no 9am to 5pm static shifts! You will be given a certain number of jobs to complete within your working day, this may differ each day meaning one day you could be finished by 2pm however the next not until 5 or 6pm ensuring a minimum of 40hrs per week are covered.
Depending on the dedicated geographical area you will be covering it is important for all applicants to know that travel time could be up to 2 hrs each way from your home base. This is something you would need to be comfortable with and willing to do to be successful.
All successful applications are expected to participate in an out of hours rota system (additional pay) shared between other colleagues within your team. This means we can provide critical 24hr emergency cover to our customers and work in-line with current regulations providing a 4hr response time.
Key Responsibilities…
* Provide excellent Customer Service to meet the expectations and requirements of both the contracted and non-contracted customers, establishing and maintaining effective relationships with customers to install the appropriate devices; dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by the customer
* Service, repair & install security \ smart home systems & complete engineer work reports
* Undertake domestic installations as surveyed. This includes fitting of fused spurs after completion of mains compliance course.
* Give assurance to customers on how to use the system and where any potential new products may be suitable.
* Flexibility to adapt working hours to meet with customer and business requirements.
* Report any changes, deficiencies or deviations in systems to Manager/Office.
* Other duties may be undertaken as and when required, in particular when new business is gained
* Adhere to strict health & safety guidelines and business policy’s
What you’ll bring to the role…
Essential
* Previous, demonstrable customer service experience specifically working in a field based or domestic home environment.
* Dedicated to and always striving to achieve excellent customer service.
* Due to the nature of work, having the ability to lift, carry and climb ladders, ensuring conformance to health and safety requirements is essential.
* Good knowledge of electrics.
* Strong knowledge or experience of using and dismantling hand/power tools.
* Self-motivated and enthusiastic
* Develop a team atmosphere through hard work, calmness and consistency whilst working unaccompanied
* Dealing with changing circumstances
* Delivering objectives and strict performance results
* Dealing with complexity
Due to the nature of our work all candidates must hold a full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points) and have no colour sight deficiency.
Desirable
* 1 Years+ Within a Security Systems Installation Role
* Knowledge of intruder alarm standards i.e. BS4737 EN50131, PD6662, DD243, BS8243.
* Knowledge of Risco and DSC intruder alarm systems
