The Opportunity
We have a number of exciting permanent part time opportunities, working 25 hours per week.

We need your help to ensure our customers’ bags move smoothly and efficiently at London Heathrow’s Terminal 5.

Handling our customers’ luggage is a huge operation. For every flight that departs and arrives, passenger bags have to be moved correctly and carefully by our Ground Operations Agents. It’s a busy role, with teams working seven days a week.

It’s also physically demanding and Health and Safety are of paramount importance, so you will need to undergo a British Airways medical and driving test, but you’ll have the satisfaction of working as part of our dedicated team who are delivering a service which continues to delight our customers.

We have a choice of 3 part time contracts

• School hours – Shifts vary between the times of 10am and 3:50pm. Variable shift patterns across 7 days a week (although you will not be required to work 7 days/week)
• Weekend only (Friday to Monday) – working 8 hour shifts to cover weekends
• 4 hour AM & PM shifts (7 on, 3 off and 7 on, 4 off) meaning every 3rd week you’ll have a 4 day weekend!

Principal Accountabilities
• Ensure customers baggage is processed and delivered to/from aircraft in a safe and timely manner
• Ensure the loading and unloading of aircraft in a safe and timely manner
• Ensure safe and correct driving/parking/storing of British Airways operational vehicles, equipment and containers
• Operate aircraft loading systems, allocation devices and terminal baggage systems using relevant technology provided
• Other associated aircraft services and ground handling functions

The Individual
• Must have the right to live and work in UK
• Be capable of heavy (eg up to 32kg) and repeated lifting
• Must hold a full UK DVLA Driving Licence Category B
• Must have a minimum of twelve months driving experience
• Must not have more than 3 penalty points or any disqualifying convictions
• Required to pass a BA medical assessment and a driving test
• Must be able to satisfy all legislative requirements for background checks in order to hold an airside pass – including criminal record check(s)
• Must have a responsible attitude to safety
• Must have good English reading and writing skills
• It is preferable, but not essential, for you to have previously worked in an industrial environment.

Salary
£26,000 per year full time plus shift pay.
