Salary: £540 – £600 per day
Our client is currently looking for a senior Geologist / Geotechnical engineer with proficient experience in geohazard identification to carry out walkover survey along selected sections of a pipeline. Candidates must be able to mobilise at the end of September to Malaysia.

Role
Our client have a project out in Malaysia, looking at geohazards along a 500Km LNG pipeline. The pipeline crosses dense rainforest and hilly/ mountainous terrain in Borneo. Our client recently had an explosion along the pipeline caused by ground movement. Following the explosion, they are keen to prevent a repeat and so are undertaking a rigorous geohazard assessment along the entire pipeline.
Individual should have strong engineering geology background with particular emphasis on geohazard identification and risk assessment. Knowledge and skill in identifying and recording geohazard features and indicators on site e.g. landslides, river channel migration, gulling, erosion. Has extensive experience of undertaking desk studies, walkover surveys and ground investigation. Prior experience of geohazard identification or geotechnical asset management along linear structures e.g. road, railways, pipeline tunnel. Prior experience in tropical or mountainous terrain will be a plus.
