General Manager – recycling. To £40k. Mold, Clwyd

The company

A market leader in the recycling industry our client is expanding rapidly and has invested heavily in new plant and equipment. They are a highly innovative company very well placed for future expansion. There are excellent opportunities for career progression within this dynamic company.

The role

This is a senior position reporting into the CEO. The General Manager will have complete operational autonomy for the site including management of cost and operational performance. There is also responsibility for managing a multi-skilled team in a very fast moving environment.

Specific accountabilities include:

Management of production operations
Achieving cost, quality, and customer KPI’s
Ensuring Health and Safety on site
Maintaining appropriate manning levels
Training and development of the team
Ensuring all environmental regulations are met
Developing a continuous improvement culture
Operate as best in class in the sector
The Person

We seek an experienced manager with broad operational experience. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in the environmental sector although candidates with a strong production management / process management background will be considered. A strong man-management background is a pre-requisite.

Other key attributes include:

Excellent communication skills
Experience of working within and driving a continuous improvement culture
Excellent understanding of cost control and output control
In depth knowledge of production processes
Strong Health and Safety background
A WAMITAB Level 4 qualification is desirable
