General Manager – Precision Engineering

Do you have a background in toolmaking? Can you read bespoke technical drawings? Do you have a commercial mind-set with an interest in being General Manager of a Precision Engineering company?

Our client, a Precision Engineering company, is looking for a predecessor to the current General Manager who is due to retire. The company has a strong team in place and a healthy client base with room for further growth. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring the smooth running of the operation, the profitability of the company and you will work closely with the Production Manager to problem solve as necessary.

Day to day duties will include:
-Customer/supplier liaison and development
-Quotations
-Sourcing Materials and Prices
-Sourcing sub contractors – welding, heat treatment etc
-Sourcing tooling requirements
-Dealing with repairs and breakdowns
-Maintaining material mill cert records
-Machine shop loading
-Authorising supplier and sales invoices

To be considered for this role you will need a background in tooling and a strong ability to be able to read bespoke technical drawings. Key to your success will be your ability to people manage and problem solve engineering queries. You have an managed/supervised staff previously and working in a precision engineering environment.
