Financial Accountant

Salary: £55,200 per year

Our client, a Gloucester based Public Sector organisation and one of the lead local employers, are currently looking to appoint a Financial Accountant on an initial four month temporary assignment.

The role is a full time contact (37.5 hours pw), will be working from home and the permanent salary equivalent is c£55,200.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accounting records and financial control systems, with the ideal candidate being able to hit the ground running.

Duties will include (but not limited to):

* Maintaining the financial accounts and systems to ensure that all financial matters are compliant and dealt with in a secure manner

* Preparing the annual statutory accounts for the group are completed, audited and submitted to the relevant bodies

* Ensuring all statutory financial obligations are met and compliant with the SORP and other financial accounting standards

* Effectively managing the group’s cash balances and cash flow forecasting

* Submitting all VAT returns, including corporation tax and PAYE, in line with statutory requirements

* Ensuring that all team and individual objectives are aligned with the Strategic Plan and Finance Business Plan

Experience required:

* Delivering annual financial accounts and regulatory returns

* Line managing finance teams

* Managing complex projects and working to tight deadline and budgets

Working hours:

* Monday – Friday

* 37 ½ hours a week

* 9.00am – 5.00pm

* Remote working
